HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is the virus that causes AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). HIV is a contagious disease that may spread when the blood and bodily fluids of an infected person come into contact with broken skin or mucous membranes of an uninfected person.
The HIV-1 Antibodies test is appropriate for exposure at least 6 months prior to testing.
Abnormal results may require further evaluation by your physician.
