Couples trying to conceive should know their options

Category: Hormones and Metabolism

For couples that are considering having a child but are experiencing difficulty conceiving, familiarizing themselves with the options they may have available could help them find a solution. Through FSH testing and other treatments, it may be possible to conceive, even for those having a hard time.

Officials from the Genetics and IVF Institute of Fairfax, Virginia, recommended that individuals consider looking at their insurance coverage and find out exactly what is included in their plan. Many insurers will cover FSH testing for both partners, as well as fertility treatments when they are needed.

These options may make the process of conceiving much simpler. Women who are under 35 who have been trying to conceive for more than one year and women over 35 who have been trying for more than six months may have a disorder that is preventing them from getting pregnant. However, the officials say these problems can often be treated.

This is why it is important for couples experiencing difficulty conceiving to seek FSH testing. Many individuals think that fertility issues are lasting, but with a proper diagnosis, many can be treated with relative ease.
