Patient Instructions

You should fast for 12 hours before collection of the specimen. Fasting is defined as no consumption of food or beverage other than water for at least 12 hours before testing. Specimens should be collected in the morning since iron values decrease by 30% during the course of the day and there can be significant interference from lipemia. Some tests in this panel may exhibit interference when sample is collected from a person who is consuming a supplement with a high dose of biotin (also termed as vitamin B7 or B8, vitamin H or coenzyme R). Samples should not be collected during or soon after the administration of heparin. If using a testosterone cream please be sure you have not rubbed any into the antecubital area of your arm for the last 24 hours as it can give elevated results. Cortisol, Total assay not recommended when patient is on prednisone/prednisolone therapy due to cross reactivity with the antibody used in this assay. Patient should be cautioned to stop biotin consumption at least 72 hours prior to the collection of a sample. In patients receiving therapy with high biotin doses (ie, > 5 mg/day), no sample should be taken until at least eight hours after the last biotin administration. Avoid seafood consumption for 48 hours prior to sample collection.

Estimated turnaround for results is 7 business days. If confirmation testing is required, the estimated time may be extended.

What is a blood testing panel for entrepreneurs?

A blood testing panel for entrepreneurs is a comprehensive diagnostic tool used to measure various biomarkers in the blood. These blood tests can allow you to target brain fog, fatigue, inflammation, and even mercury poisoning. It can give insight into your health status and help you identify potential health issues early on. This way, you will be able to take action before health issues become serious.

What biomarkers are typically measured in an entrepreneur test?

Our Executive Edge test measures biomarkers associated with inflammation, stress, kidney and liver function, heart health and hormone balance. Some of the most important biomarkers you will get measured are:

  • Cortisol (the stress hormone)
  • C-RP (inflammation marker)
  • Estrogen, testosterone, SHBG and DHEA-s (sex hormones)
  • Thyroid hormones
  • Vitamins such as magnesium and vitamin D
  • CMP and HbA1C test to evaluate your metabolic functions

Our Executive Edge test for entrepreneurs will also test for mercury, as we know lots of high-performing corporate employees and CEOs consume large amounts of seafood week to week, which can cause accumulation of mercury in the body over time.

Why should an entrepreneur or ceo consider getting a blood testing panel?

If you’re in an entrepreneurial environment, you most likely have a hectic and stressful lifestyle, which can have an impact on your health. If your health is affected, so will your professional performance.

An unhealthy body will never produce as good thoughts, decisions and actions as a healthy body. A blood testing panel can provide insight into your health status and help you identify potential issues early on, so you can take steps to address them before they become serious problems and impact your personal and professional life.

What are the most common health conditions an entrepreneur or a ceo can develop?

The most common health conditions high-performing professionals can develop are those correlated to an unhealthy lifestyle (such as poor eating habits that include lots of takeout, as well as a lack of exercise, little sleep daily, and high stress). Vitamin and mineral deficiencies, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and hormone imbalances are amongst the common illnesses that these executives can suffer. Other less frequent but still quite present diseases that can arise are mercury poisoning and adrenal fatigue.

How is the Executive Edge test performed?

The Executive Edge test is performed like any other blood test we offer. You will order your panel, receive your requisition, and go to your selected lab location to get your sample collected by a phlebotomist. Once your results are ready, you will receive an email and SMS notification. Then, you will have a whole world of information on your health, and you will be able to make informed decisions to improve it.

How long does it take to get my Executive Edge test results?

Most results are typically available within 7 business days.
