Additionally, the Thyroglobulin test helps monitor thyroid activity and can detect if nodules are producing excess thyroid proteins. While blood tests are crucial for assessing function, thyroid ultrasound and fine needle biopsy are typically needed to determine if nodules are benign or cancerous.
