Why is gender required?
Last updated September 10, 2026
When placing an order your gender is required to determine the reference ranges needed for the tests being ordered.
Some tests do have different reference ranges when it comes to gender. In order to accurately report the reference range, we require this information to notify the lab on what ranges to reference the results to.
We also have some tests with ordering restrictions on a particular gender. This allows our system to recognize if the tests ordered are able to be performed by the processing labs.
