STD Recent Exposure Panel
- (QUEST DIAGNOSTICS)Description:
Standard testing for many sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) rely on tests or technologies that require several weeks to several months to become accurate. This panel is designed specifically to detect potential exposure to STDs occurring 28 days or more prior to testing.
Abnormal results will require further evaluation by your physician.Includes: Chlamydia trachomatis/Neisseria gonorrhoeae DNA, SDA
Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg) with Reflex Confirmation:
Positive samples will be confirmed based on the manufacturer's FDA approved recommendations.
Herpes Simplex Virus 1 and 2 (IgG), Type Specific Antibodies (HerpeSelect®)
HIV-1 DNA, Qualitative, PCR
Syphilis (RPR) Test:
If RPR screen is reactive, RPR Titer and Fluorescent Treponemal Antibody (FTA) Confirmatory testing will be performed.
Note: Confirmation testing is performed on reactive results only if initial values fall within a designated range requiring additional confirmation.
Patient should not have urinated for at least 1 hour prior to specimen collection. Collect the specimen in a sterile, preservative-free collection cup. The patient should collect the first 20-60 mL of voided urine (the first part of the stream-not midstream) into a urine collection cup.
Estimated turnaround for results is 5 business days. If confirmation testing is required, the estimated time may be extended.
