The Metabolic Syndrome Profile (Advanced) Panel will provide detailed lab results to obtain markers to aid in the diagnosis of Metabolic Syndrome.
Significant deviations from the normal range may require further evaluation by your physician.
Patient should fast for 9-12 hours prior to collection of the specimen. Fasting is defined as no consumption of food or beverage other than water for at least 9-12 hours before testing. Patient should be on a normal diet and maintain a stable weight for a week prior to testing. Any drugs should be discontinued for 3-4 weeks if possible. If applicable, consult physician before discontinuing any medications. Test should not be done until 3 months after a myocardial infarction or similar traumatic episodes such as severe infection or inflammation. Estimated turnaround for results is 3 business days. If confirmation testing is required, the estimated time may be extended.
