C-Reactive Protein (CRP), High Sensitivity (Cardiac Risk Assessment)
- (QUEST DIAGNOSTICS)Description:
The Cardiac C-Reactive Protein (CRP) Test will measure the level of CRP in your blood. CRP is an acute phase protein typically used as a marker for inflammation. Recent studies have concluded that persons who have an elevated level of CRP are at an increased risk for heart disease and high blood pressure. Oral contraceptives, IUDs, pregnancy, and menstruation may raise Cardio CRP levels. Levels are lowest during ovulation.
A significant deviation from the normal range may require further evaluation by your physician.
