1. What testing is done for ovarian cancer?

   Ovarian cancer blood tests are done to measure any tumor markers found in the blood, which most often are CA-125 levels. Women with ovarian cancer have elevated levels of this protein, produced by the ovaries and long bones.

2. Who should get tested for ovarian cancer?

   Not everyone who tests positive for ovarian cancer has symptoms, so it's important to get tested if you:

   • Have a family history of ovarian cancer or either breast, colon or endometrial cancer
   • Are a woman 35 year old or older
   • Have had surgery to remove an ovarian cyst
   • Have a body mass index of 30 or higher (obesity)
   • Have a child with an inherited syndrome called Lynch Syndrome

3. How to test for ovarian cancer?

   Testing for ovarian cancer is done with a simple blood test collected from a vein in your arm using a small needle. This usually takes less than five minutes.

4. Do I need to visit a doctor?
