This testosterone test will also provide Total Testosterone results when the value is >1500 but <10,000.
Patient should fast for 12-14 hours preceding collection of specimen. Fasting is defined as no consumption of food or beverage other than water before testing. Specimens should be collected in the morning since iron values decrease by 30% during the course of the day and there can be significant interference from lipemia. In patients receiving therapy with high biotin doses (ie, > 5 mg/day), no sample should be taken until at least eight hours after the last biotin administration. Samples should not be collected during or soon after the administration of Heparin. If using a testosterone cream please be sure you have not rubbed any into the antecubital area of your arm for the last 24 hours as it can give elevated results.
Estimated turnaround for results is 10 business days. If confirmation testing is required, the estimated time may be extended.
Cardiac C-Reactive Protein Test (HS)

Comprehensive Metabolic Profile ( includes eGFR): A:G ratio; albumin, serum; alkaline phosphatase, serum; ALT (SGPT); AST (SGOT); bilirubin, total; BUN; BUN:creatinine ratio; calcium, serum; carbon dioxide, total; chloride, serum; creatinine, serum; globulin, total; glucose, serum; potassium, serum; protein, total, serum; sodium, serum.

Urinalysis, Routine Profile: Color, appearance, specific gravity, pH, protein, glucose, ketones, occult blood, leukocyte esterase, nitrite, bilirubin, and urobilinogen. These tests are done on all routine urinalysis ordered and if protein, leukocyte, occult blood, nitrite, and turbidity are all negative, microscopic examination is not performed; just the above parameters are reported. (If results are abnormal test will reflex to include microscopic examination).
Note: If total testosterone results are expected to be >1500 it is best that the Testosterone LC/MS-MS version of this test be ordered.
Patient should fast for 12 hours preceding collection of specimen. No radioisotopes administered 24 hours prior to venipuncture. This test may exhibit interference when sample is collected from a person who is consuming a supplement with a high dose of biotin (also termed as vitamin B7 or B8, vitamin H or coenzyme R). It is recommended to stop biotin consumption at least 72 hours prior to the collection of specimen. If using a testosterone cream please be sure you have not rubbed any into the antecubital area of your arm for the last 24 hours as it can give elevated results.
Estimated turnaround for results is 10-14 business days. If confirmation testing is required, the estimated time may be extended.
