Hemoglobin (Hgb) A1c With eAG Estimation - (LABCORP)
Description: It is important that the relationship between daily patient-monitored blood glucose determinations and Hb A1c be clearly defined to enable patients and their healthcare providers to set appropriate daily plasma glucose testing goals to achieve Hb A1c levels representing low risks for adverse outcomes. In summary, each 1% change in Hb AA1c represents a change of approximately 30 mg/dL in mean blood glucose (MBG) or 35 mg/dL mean plasma glucose (MPG) and the relationship is: MPG = MBG x 1.11. This relationship applies only to Hb A1c methods certified as traceable to DCCT reference, and that is based on overall averages and may vary slightly in individual patients.
Includes: Hemoglobin (Hgb) A1c With eAG Estimation. eAG is also referred to as MPG.
