Kidney tests can help people avoid serious conditions laterDoctors at the Northwest Kidney Centers are reporting a 30 percent increase in kidney disease cases in the last decade with most people not realizing they ever had the condition, MSNBC.com reports.

March is National Kidney Month, which has sparked a country-wide push for people to raise the awareness of kidney-related afflictions.

Dr. Leanna Tyshler, who works at the center, said most people don't know they have the condition because it's a "silent disease" and suggests people who are at risk of developing the affliction should get a kidney test, according to the article. People who have high blood pressure, diabetes or a family history of kidney disease are urged to either get a lab test or, if more convenient, look into lab testing online for early detection.

For some patients, they won't find out about the disease until they suffered from kidney failure, which can be avoid if the opt to get a kidney test.

The disease is the ninth leading cause of death in the U.S, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.ADNFCR-2248-ID-19090425-ADNFCR
