Gastrin Test
Gastrin is the major hormone that regulates
acid secretion in the stomach. A gastrin test measures the amount of gastrin
in the blood. Too much gastrin causes severe peptic ulcer disease. Gastrin
producing tumors are found in Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
A significant deviation from the
normal range may require further evaluation by your physician.
