Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme, Serum Level

Private MD Lab Services offers the following Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) serum test to help diagnose sarcoidosis. Serum ACE level is high in sarcoidosis, more often when the disease is active. This test is used by physicians to assess the response of sarcoidosis to corticosteroid therapy. Changes in serum ACE correlate with clinical status. Falling ACE level is a favorable prognostic sign. Rising levels may reflect activity uncontrolled by therapy.
