Benefits of gluten free diet

Category: General Health

For some people, embracing a gluten-free diet may be a healthy and vital change in one's life, especially if they may have mild allergic reactions to some foods, according to the Examiner.com.

The online news provider recently discussed the benefits of going gluten-free and noted that some studies had found it can benefit people who suffer from seven skin rashes or any other inflammatory response to gluten.

Gluten, for those who may not know, is the protein part of wheat, rye, barley and other related grains. An intolerance to that protein means a person has the inability to digest or bread down gluten, which can lead to a mild sensitivity to certain foods to some people experiencing a serious allergic attack.

Foods such as brown rice pasta and beans are examples of what a person can eat on a gluten-free diet.

Some studies have found that once gluten is eliminated from a diet, some health conditions such as arthritis, allergies, ADHD and autism can improve. Though, in regards to autism, incorporating a gluten-free diet cannot be considered a "cure" for the behavioral condition.
